Information We Collect

Information You Enter Into the App

PackBetter stores information you choose to add to your trips, including:

• Trip names and trip details
• Packing lists and custom packing items
• Traveler information
• Reservations and itinerary details
• Notes and travel information
• Shared trip participation details

Reservation Imports

The App allows users to import reservation information by:

• Pasting confirmation text
• Importing screenshots of confirmations

Text recognition and parsing occur on-device whenever possible. Imported screenshots are not retained by the App unless you explicitly choose to save them.

Documents and Photos

Users may optionally store travel documents and images within the App.

Documents designated as private remain stored locally on the user's device and are not uploaded to our servers unless explicitly shared by the user.

Cloud Synchronization

PackBetter uses Apple's CloudKit services to synchronize shared trip information across participating travelers.

Information that may sync includes:

• Packing items
• Reservation details
• Traveler lists
• Trip notes
• Shared trip metadata

Synchronization occurs only for trips that users explicitly choose to share.

Diagnostics

The App may collect crash reports and diagnostic information to improve stability, reliability, and performance.

Diagnostic information is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.

How Information Is Used

Information collected through the App may be used to:

• Create and manage trips
• Generate personalized packing recommendations
• Synchronize shared trip information
• Import and organize reservations
• Improve app performance and reliability
• Provide customer support

Third-Party Services

PackBetter relies on the following third-party services:

• Apple CloudKit for synchronization
• Apple App Store and StoreKit for purchases
• Crash reporting services for diagnostics and stability monitoring

These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Data Sharing

PackBetter does not sell personal information.

Trip information is shared only with travelers you explicitly invite to participate in a shared trip.

Data Retention

Locally stored information remains on your device until you remove it.

Shared trip information synchronized through CloudKit remains available to participants until the trip is deleted or sharing is removed.

Children's Privacy

PackBetter is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new features or legal requirements. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date.
